In 2008, the Building Planning Task Force selected Mullen Heller
Architecture to work with them to design First Unitarian’s new 10-year
Master Plan for our campus. The Master Plan was adopted by the Congregation
in January 2010.
After Congregational approval in February 2011 to move ahead with the
capital campaign, the First Unitarian Board of Directors hired Mullen Heller
Architecture to work with the Design & Construction Team. Together, they
will accomplish two very important first steps:
1) Prepare Schematic Drawings for Phase I of the Master Plan -- our new
Sanctuary Building.
2) Prepare and submit required documentation to the City of Albuquerque’s
Environmental Planning Commission (EPC) to obtain approval for First
Unitarian’s Master Plan.
Note: the Master Plan also calls for a new Meeting/Office/RE Building
that will replace the old Wesson/Arnold building complex. This building is
expected to be included in Phase II of the Master Plan.
