At our Albuquerque site:

A special part of our Sunday worship is provided by the wonderful musicians who bless us with their gifts. We welcome singers, instrumentalists, and performance groups to provide music for both of our services throughout the year.

Musicians' Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is there any particular type of music you are looking for?

We enjoy listening to a wide variety of musical styles. Our music director can work with you to select pieces that will complement the worship time and that Sunday's theme.

Q: What music will I be expected to provide?

You will be asked to perform at both of our Sunday services (9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.). In general, performers play for 15 minutes prior to the start of the service as people arrive. This is a quiet time in the sanctuary, and church members will give you their full attention. You may also be asked to play one or two incidental pieces as part of the service and a longer piece during the collection.

Q: May I sell my recordings at the church?

Yes, you may set up a table in our courtyard during coffee hour to meet our congregation and provide recordings for sale.

Q: Will I be compensated for my performance?

Musicians who are church members usually donate their work, but outside musicians are generally paid. Sometimes outside musicians trade their performances at services for free use of our sanctuary for a concert of their own.

Q: How do I let you know if I am interested in performing at your church?

The music director is in charge of arranging musical performances for worship. He generally auditions musicians, often by going to a concert or listening to a CD. Please call the church office at (505) 884-1801 or e-mail the music director for more information.
