Education: University of New Mexico

Alan Stringer graduated from the University of New Mexico with a minor in Music. He has served for over 55 years as a church organist, choral conductor and pianist. He also has taken UNM training courses at annual conferences each year since they were offered in preparation for UU musician credentialing.

Alan is a composer, with 25 choral compositions published by Yelton Rhodes Music, Los Angeles, and 10 operas performed in New Mexico, Georgia and New York City. In Albuquerque he has worked as president of Opera Southwest and the New Mexico Composers Guild. He founded the New Mexico Gay Men's Chorus and has served on the board of the UU Musician's Network.
